Runway Recap + STYLE Chat with Trina Turk

Sunday night Belk and the Junior League of Raleigh rolled out the red carpet for a private fashion show and shopping gala at Belk of Crabtree Valley Mall. The stylish event featured a personal appearance by renowned fashion designer Trina Turk.

A genuine California local, Trina Turk is inspired by the Golden State’s multicultural mix, creativity, craftsmanship, architecture, and landscape–a synergy that permeates her contemporary, colorful aesthetic.

“The Spring 2014 collection was inspired by a road trip through California, ” said Trina Turk. “It starts with black and white, strong color and geometric prints.  As we move into the spring season we are going more toward the coastline and the colors softens and the prints are more organic and swirly.”

Guests enjoyed refreshments, live entertainment, Red Carpet giveaways, prize drawings and a Belk coupon good for 20 percent off purchases of regular and sale priced merchandise.

Arlene Goldstein, VP of Trend and Merchandising presented Belk’s style statements for spring including Clean Slate, Jetsetter, and Feminine Charm available online and in Belk stores.

The Junior League of Raleigh (www.jlraleigh.org) is a nonprofit organization focused on training women as community leaders and volunteers. The Raleigh League has more than 1,900 members serving Wake County with programs of education and volunteer service.
