The notorious fashion month is winding down and the Charlotte Fashion Guild is ending it with a week full of talented designers showcasing their collections.

It was a rainy and chilly night here in Charlotte but it didn’t keep the community from coming out to see the evening’s collections.  Designers who showed their collections this evening included: The Art Institute of Charlotte, Drew Clawson, Pewilben and Honeycake Clothing.

I was honored and surprised to see my Alma Mater showcasing designers from the design program at the Art Institute of Charlotte. They did an amazing job showcasing their pieces with confidence and professionalism. The design elements of this show were very eclectic, the designers created fashion looks from a variety of materials, fabrics and props. The catwalk screamed creativity as the models walked the runway in chains, fur, leather, mesh, feathers and glitter. Hair and makeup finished each look by adding drama and intensity.

I look forward to seeing what the other designers will be showcasing the rest of the week. Thursday-Saturdays designer line-up goes accordingly: Thursday night:Krystell barraza, Kaitlyn Machos, Daft Minerva, Layana Aguilar, Friday night : Enemy to Fashion, Zachary Nathaniel, Rita Bhat, Tsvety MeAullife, Kyle Matas, Briana Dione, Stevie Boi, Saturday night: Jason Peters, Joseph Singh, Rinat Brodarch, Flow by Tara Davis, Justin Leblane, Sandro Masmanidi. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
