Home Décor: DIY Pumpkin Centerpieces

Pumpkins and Gourds are common for fall home décor.  As parties and entertainment are brought indoors during the brisk months; try adding some personal STYLE to your domicile.  Whether sparkles, shimmer, or stripes, these DIY tips are sure to impress your guests.

The Sparkle Pumpkin

Step 1. Clean the surface of the pumpkin with a warm wash cloth and set on newspaper (outside if possible).

Step 2. Spray a light layer of adhesive glue all over, leaving the stem dry  in order to handle your creation.

Step 3. Pour the glitter color of your choice onto the pumpkin, allowing the excess glitter to tumble off.

4. Pour the excess glitter from the newspaper into a cup and repeat the process until your work of art is covered in beautiful sparkles.

The Striped Pumpkin

1. Again, clean the surface with a warm wash cloth and set on a piece of newspaper.

2. Choose a base paint color and cover the pumpkin with your choice of color using a spray paint can.

3. Allow the base coat to dry for up to 4 hours.  Using painters tape, create zig-zags or straight lines to paint inside of.

4. Choose a second color to paint inside of the tape lines.  Fill in the secondary color using a paint brush for preciseness. Allow the secondary coat to dry for up to 4 hours.  Remove painters tape and admire your new artistic pumpkin.
