Sunday, May 19th, Kendra Leonard, hosted her 3rd bi-annual Charity Fashion Show, presented by her boutique “the art of style.” The event was held at the beautiful Cottages of Brier Creek, benefitting the “Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.” The art of style and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society partners every year to raise funds and bring awareness about blood cancers such as myeloma, hodgkin’s disease, leukemia and lymphoma. To tackle the number of diagnosed cases, The event also featured a bone marrow registration provided by the DKMS. Which offered volunteers a chance to join the registry for a marrow match, to help individuals battling blood disorders.
This years charity fashion event had a fantastic turnout and featured a food and wine tasting, silent auction with amazing health and beauty packages, and gift certificates. The live auction featured artwork by local artists, health and fitness packages, getaway vacation packages, and a downtown date package. The models took the runway in the latest ready to wear summer fashions, exclusively from “the art of style” boutique for men and women.
The outdoor event was cut short midway during the fashion show, due to a summer rainstorm. For those who missed this stylish event, you will have another opportunity to see all the summer fashions, and donate to a great cause! This charity fashion show will have their “part 2” on sunday, JUNE 2nd from 7-10pm at a new venue, The Artisan at brightleaf! (2015 Copper Leaf Parkway, Durham) Come dressed to impress, mix and mingle with the triads biggest fashion lovers. Purchase your tickets in advance at the art of style boutique at the Cameron Village and Brier Creek locations, or online for $10. $20 at the door on the day of the event. If you purchased a ticket for the for the rained out event on may 19th, you do not need to purchase an additional ticket.
