Every girl’s favorite holiday is on the horizon, Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re happily coupled up or not, this simple DIY is a must try. Chocolate covered strawberries can seem like an insurmountable and messy task, but this is 2013, it’s time to innovate! Thanks to our obsession with Pintrest we’ve discovered a better way to make these delectable treats- inside out!
You’ll need a couple of items to begin:
1 or 2 empty egg carton(s)
1 or 2 pack(s) of strawberries
1 pipping bag (can be picked up at the local grocery store)
1 bag of Chocolate Chips
1 box of heavy whipping cream
1 stick of butter
Hollow out the center of the strawberries from the top, then place them upright into the egg carton. Once all strawberries have been set up right you can begin to create the filling. Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips on low heat with a 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream, stir in 1 tablespoon of butter. After mixture is well combined set in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Remove chocolate mix and spoon into pipping bag, fill each strawberry with desired amount of filling. Keep chilled until serving. Et Voila!
**This recipe will not store well for very long as the properties in the chocolate will change. If you are making for someone else try to create them on the day of your gift.**
