Charlotte Based Pop-up Shop “Elle & Bae” Supports the After Hours Entrepreneur

Our favorite interior design pop up shop returns for fun shopping this weekend.

Recently named the Best of the City in the design category by SouthPark Magazine, Elle & Bae Pop-Up Shops are hosting their second season of unique and eclectic interior design furnishings.  The event features local small business vendors who either create or refurnish interesting pieces to spruce up your favorite room.

The team behind these curated events, Kim “Elle” Loring and Ariene “Bae” Bethea, host several pop-ups throughout the year to introduce the Charlotte market with access to local small businesses who mostly sell online.

Founders Kim Loring and Ariene Bethea know all to well about the parallels of working a corporate job during the day and wearing an entrepreneur hat after hours.

“Most of our local small business vendors also have day jobs – and so do we…it’s our second life,” the duo says.

Kim has worked in the banking industry for 14 years and Ariene a seasoned human resources professional, has recently given up her role to follow her passion full-time.

“Our passion for interiors and home furnishings brought us together, so as we began to look for vendors we didn’t have to search further then our own peers,” the duo says.

Both Kim and Ariene primarily sell their vintage finds online all over the country but wanted to have a store for a day to sell their goods to customers in their own backyard. Each pop-up starts with a preview and networking evening for local interior designers and design bloggers. Elle & Bae pop-ups are more than selling eclectic and unique pieces, they are about building relationships and between the vendor and customers and supporting local small businesses.
