As soon as you step off the plane at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the familiar scent of sun, rum and curry hit your senses.  If you are looking to get away, relax, enjoy some amazing food and soak up sun on some of the Caribbean’s best beaches, then the island of Jamaica is for you.

On this trip, I stayed in Runaway Bay which is about an hour from the airport, depending on traffic and your mode of transportation. You can charter a shared bus from the airport with any of the major travel companies which is considerably less expensive but takes more time given it will probably stop at other hotels/properties along the way. On this adventure, I booked a private car service for $150 roundtrip with Shadow Travel Group and it was the best decision. They had the sign waiting and headed straight for the resort. No stops!
