CorePower Yoga Opens at Park Road

We had the pleasure of touring and taking a C2 level hot yoga class at the new CorePower Yoga studio on Park Road. After a yearlong building process and two months of construction, the gorgeous, renovated studio opened April 8th.  This new workout central will feature many different classes for new and advanced yogis.

@CorePowerYoga just opened in #CLT. Here are a few pics and the deets. #Yoga Click To Tweet

If you really want to feel the burn (quite literally), CorePower Yoga offers intense hot yoga classes to get you meditating while also sweating. I had the opportunity to take one of the classes and let me tell you, it was challenging! As someone who doesn’t practice yoga regularly, I found the class to be so much fun and rewarding. The yoga instructor and studio manager, Catrina, was so helpful and motivating and talking us through each move.  The 60-minute class included a warm up, exercise and a short shavasana to cool down (Shavasana is a pose usually done at the end of a yoga practice in which practitioners lay flat on their backs with the heels spread as wide as the yoga mat and the arms at the sides of the body, palms facing upward.)

Like me, if you don’t own a yoga mat or anything like it, CorePower lends you a mat and towel for each class. They also have a small merchandise selection of yoga gear and clothing from brands like Free People and Lululemon.

There are 62 classes on the schedule with 15 different instructors, meaning there is truly a class for everyone. Blogger Courtney from The Dainty Darling also attended the class. It was her first yoga experience and she said that she loved the class. When I questioned, what was the most difficult part, she quickly responded with “the crow pose!” Although some moves are quite challenging, the instructors don’t force you into doing them but will guide you if you’d like.

CorePower Yoga’s presence at Park Road will be a first in market for Charlotte. It combines yoga with music and creates a consistent experience for all yogis while being safe and accessible for beginners. Visit them on 540 Brandywine Road near Park Road, located in the back lot of the Park Road Shopping Center next to the new Midwood Smokehouse.
