The 8th Annual Red Pump Red Tie Affair Hosted Notables, Honored One Outstanding Woman

The Red Pump Project®’s 8th Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair commemorated World AIDS Day in style on Saturday, December 3 . The Affair, which is hosted by Red Pump Charlotte (produced by JSW Media Group), fuses fashion and philanthropy while serving to bring awareness and education about the impact of HIV/AIDS in the Greater Charlotte community.

The evening also honors a female community leader who has dedicated her time and energy to fighting the battle against HIV/AIDS. This year The Red Pump Award is was given to Solita Jefferies, a woman who personifies what The Red Pump Project is all about—delivering education and promoting awareness. Past honorees include Hannah Stutts (2015), Rev. Deborah C. Warren (2014) Tarsha’ Hamilton (2013), Geneva Galloway (2012), Joanne Stevenson Jenkins (2011), Dee Dee Richardson (2010) and DeVondia Roseborough (2009).

The evening opened with interviews on the red carpet by fashion personality and red carpet commentator Jennifer Michelle.  Emmy winner Boris “Bluz” Rogers and E! News Contributor Stacee Michelle hosted the show.   Musical guests included DJ A Rock, Derwin Friday of 5th and York, and Kevin Carter who performed his original song.

The front row featured local notables, media personalities, music industry icons and business leaders.

Wardrobe stylist Kyle Alexander Murray served as the Fashion Director for the evening, Make Up Artist Michelle Diane as the Beauty Director and  Model Coach Candice Rushing of CTM Casting as the Model Casting Director.
