A new runway show is coming to the Charlotte area for a special cause on Saturday December 10th in Charlotte, NC. Fashion Beyond Borders is an experience featuring various designers, models, musicians, and more in order to raise the awareness for global contribution, in innovative ways.
Pearls of Hope Outreach, a service nonprofit organization specializing in volunteer and educational opportunities within the state of North Carolina, has launched Fashion Beyond Borders, as a result of their most recent service project, a missions trip to Roatan, Honduras. The Merino School, is of particular interest and through the proceeds of this show, the goal is to raise enough money to further this school’s educational and community efforts in the small country of Honduras.
Pearls of Hope has partnered with Plitzs Fashion Marketing to produce this charitable fashion event, in order to raise money to provide basic needs, such as electricity, clean water, food and school supplies that students and staff desperately need in order to serve their community. Several neighborhoods of this island were victims of drugs and sex trafficking and the schools serve not only for educational needs, but also as places of refuge for many students and their families.
Watch as Pearls of Hope President Katrian McCain talks to STYLE’s Editor-in-Chief, Brie Wright about the event.
Pearls of Hope Outreach was founded in 2013 and has participated in several community service projects in its three years of existance. The members hold tight to the belief that world impact must first take place in the individual hearts of the people. Together, through their friendships, faith and efforts, they continue to seek opportunities to love, serve and give, locally, nationally and globally.
