Giving in STYLE: The Sarcoma Stomp, Saturday April 30
Join The Paula Takacs Foundation for Sarcoma Research for its annual signature fundraiser at the Sarcoma Stomp Run/Walk on Saturday, April 30, 2016, 8 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 4545 Providence Road. The Sarcoma Stomp, presented by Babson Capital Management, will benefit research and clinical trials at Levine Cancer Institute. Participants can register at sarcomastomp.org.
The event, one of the largest sarcoma races in the nation, includes a 5K Run and 3K Walk. The race route will take participants on a scenic course through the beautiful neighborhoods of Mammoth Oaks and Lansdowne.There will be a Cheering Crew option for those who can’t participate in the Run/Walk but want to support the event. Registration is $25 per person, and rates will increase after April 15, 2016.
Event participants may register as a team. Support sarcoma survivors, remember loved ones or gather co- workers or friends for an important cause. Top individual and team fundraisers will receive a special prize during the awards ceremony. These participant fundraisers may be sponsored by setting up a personal Sarcoma Stomp fundraising page. “We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our participants and many corporate sponsors, as well as the overall growth of this event,” said Susan Udelson, Executive Director. “A testament to our founder Paula Takacs’ fearless mentality, we will continue the fight to find cures for this rare cancer.”
Participants will receive performance shirts, as well as custom medals and prizes for 5K winners. Following the event, there will be food and drink, as well as a massage tent, courtesy of Massage Envy. This family-friendly event will also include face painting, balloon twisting, games and activities. Prizes will be awarded for the most donations raised, first to cross the finish line and more.
