Time after time, one day a year, the whole world comes together to celebrate one of life’s greatest joys- love. Whether it be a romantic evening with that someone special or a hot night out with your best of friends, love is in the air. One of the biggest things we all ask ourselves the night before this holiday of hearts… ‘How am I going to do my makeup?!’
The iconic trend of rose colored lips is back in full swing and is as beautiful as ever, but why settle for a rose when you can have chocolate? The season-less beauty trend for this year – a smoky hue that matches all eye colors, based on the seductively delicious and delectable box of chocolates. Sport the bombshell beauty trend this Valentine’s Day with rich, brown shades that’ll have him eating his heart out.
‘Hershey Kiss’: Subtle is seductive.
End your night with a delicious dessert by making your lips the most enticing treat of the evening. Paint the lid with Mac Cosmetics’ ‘Painterly’ eye shadow base and top it off with a minimal, but beautiful skin toned shade, such as ‘skimp’ or ‘stark’ from Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Basics palette. Keep it simple by softly lining, then blending the outer corner of your upper lash line with a milk chocolate shade, such as ‘fix’ from the Naked on the Run Palette by Urban Decay. Lusting for a more dramatic finish? Try lining a dark chocolate shadow along the outer corner of your eyes focusing the color from the middle of your upper and lower lash line and smudging it out for a more intensified appeal. Remember, this is an eye lining technique, not an all over the lid eye look. Accentuate your outer lashes by focusing mascara on your corner lashes adding length for a butterfly effect. Now for the main attraction…line your lips with a deep brown liner and apply a red lipstick or lip stain. Create an ombre effect by blending out the liner so the colors fade together like a raspberry filled chocolate delight making your lips the must have treat of the night!
‘Box of Chocolates’: All eyes are on you.
Lock his eyes across the dinner table with an all over the lid matte, milk chocolate shade, such as ‘cover’ or ‘primal’ from Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Basics palette. For more boldness, blend the shade to desired darkness into your crease and sweep that delicate chocolate shade along your lower lash line for a more eye popping, smokey finish. Intensify this look by tight lining around your eye with a deep brown liner followed up with your favorite, full lash mascara. To keep the chocolate theme going, contour your cheek bones with a brown shade and blend it up into the apple of your cheeks. Polish off this Valentine’s Day look with a nude lipstick containing a soft brown undertone as seen in Maybelline’s Color Sensational ‘The Buff’ line.
