Charleston Fashion Week 2015 Kick Off Event

Charleston Fashion Week 2015 Kick Off Event

With Baker Motor Company, Charleston Fashion Week 2015 just a couple of months away, it was the perfect time for Charleston to roll out the red carpet, put up the famous CFW step and repeat and throw an amazing launch party to announce this year’s emerging designers. The designer meet and greet was held at the swanky Republic Garden & Lounge, located just off of Charleston’s historic King street and close to Marion Square, where in just a couple of months, the tents will be up and buzzing with fashionistas from all over the South.IMG_0918

The emerging designers that will grace the runways this season are preparing creations that span the fashion gambit from women and men’s ready to wear, to conceptual garments of art and evening wear. The designers are traveling all the way to Charleston from cities such as Brooklyn and Savannah for the opportunity to share their designs on a nationally ranked stage.

Many of Charleston’s most fashionable and stylish icons were in attendance at the kick off event, including CFW’s very own sweetheart and event emcee, Ayoka Lucas. Republic was the hot spot of the night with other local staples in the fashion community, including designers, boutique owners, bloggers and stylists.

In addition to announcing this year’s designers and the line up of the week, this event was also the host of the CFW 2015 Top Cocktail competition. Mixologists from all over Charleston vied for the opportunity to share their creations made with the 2015 CFW Style Lounge alcohol sponsors. One by one, the bartenders made their cocktails and shared them with the judges who will be selecting this year’s winner closer to the big week.

As time draws near for this year’s fashion week to begin, one can only agree that this was an amazing kick off event! The energy that was shared at Republic Garden & Lounge will only trickle down the street to Marion Square, where soon the empty park will be filled with large tents that hold runways, models, designs and flashing lights of what has become the fashion gem of the South, Baker Motor Company, Charleston Fashion Week.
