Your Reason to Wear Red Pumps : The 6th Annual Red Pump/RedTie Affair

Your reason to wear your best red pumps is right around the corner. Now in its sixth year, The Red Pump Project’s Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair will commemorate World AIDS Day 2014 on Saturday, December 6 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 the Hart Witzen Gallery (136 E 36th Street) in NoDa, Charlotte’s historic arts district. The Affair, which is hosted by Red Pump Charlotte in association with presenting sponsor JSW Media Group, is one of Charlotte’s most distinctive “parties with a purpose” that effectively couples fashion and philanthropy while serving to bring awareness and education about the impact of HIV/AIDS to the forefront in the Greater Charlotte community and beyond.

The Red Pump/Red Tie Affair is a signature event for The Red Pump Project and helps further its mission to raise awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls, ensuring that women are empowered with accurate knowledge about the disease and the issues surrounding it. Guests will enjoy a multi-sensory experience: eye-catching fashion presentations, which will include a runway show featuring some of Charlotte’s most eclectic styles from area boutiques and local designers; a cocktail hour with complimentary light fare, desserts and a cash bar; a silent auction where 100 percent of proceeds will benefit those living right here in the Queen City through a variety of programming initiatives. The evening’s highlight will be the awards ceremony to honor a female community leader who has dedicated her time and energy to fighting the battle against HIV/AIDS. Each year The Red Pump Award is given to a woman who personifies what The Red Pump Project is all about-delivering education and promoting awareness. Our 2014 Red Pump Honoree is Rev. Deborah C. Warren who is the Founder, President and CEO of Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN); Rev. Warren’s unwavering commitment to service both individually and through her contribution to the community via RAIN makes her the ideal choice for this year’s award. Past honorees include Tarsha’ Hamilton (2013), Geneva Galloway (2012), Joanne Stevenson Jenkins (2011), Dee Dee Richardson (2010) and DeVondia Roseborough (2009).

CBS Radio personality Chirl Girl of v101.9 will serve as mistress of ceremonies for this year’s event and Power 98’s Morning Maddhouse co-host DJ Yasmin Young will be the evening’s musical director, spinning smooth grooves and keeping the mood festive. Attendees will enjoy a true red carpet experience with special invited guests, exciting entertainment, and the opportunity to network with some of Charlotte’s notable entrepreneurs, philanthropists, media personalities, socialites and tastemakers. This is an opportunity to have a great time-all while fellowshipping with like-minded professionals, celebrating life and supporting a meaningful cause.

General Admission tickets are $40.00 per person. Cocktail attire is required. Red pumps and red ties are strongly encouraged. Remember, “Awareness is Always In Style.”™ Tickets are available online at
