The tasty event will showcase four renowned chefs from the southeast, including Vivian Howard (Chef & the Farmer, Kinston, NC), Jay Swift (4th & Swift Restaurant & Bar, Atlanta, GA), Colin Bedford (The Fearrington House Restaurant, Pittsboro, NC), and Joe Trull (Grits & Groceries, Belton, SC).
The multi‐course dinner will focus on the freshest, regional ingredients of the season paired with amazing wines. A cocktail reception will kick off the event at 6pm, featuring a live auction in which guests can bid on a variety of luxury culinary items from the chefs themselves. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the auction and dinner will support No Kid Hungry’s work in America and right here in North Carolina. Individual tickets are $175. Group tickets are also available.
“I’m thrilled to host the first Charlotte No Kid Hungry Dinner,” said Chef Fortes. “As chefs, we feed people every day and we need to ensure all kids have the healthy food they need, every day. This event is a perfect example of how we can join together to use our talents and passion for food to make a big impact on the lives of American children.”
One in five children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than one in four children in North Carolina alone. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry and partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with more than 107 million additional meals. In North Carolina, No Kid Hungry is focused on increasing breakfast participation in schools year round, education and more.
