January is the month of fresh starts. If your new workout routine or career goals are stressing you out, why not jumpstart your 2014 goals? A makeover is a sure-fire way to boost your confidence, recharge your energy during these gloomy, cold months, and help you take on the new year in STYLE! Makeup Artist Stephanie Cunningham shows us how to incorporate a couple of Spring 2014’s hottest beauty trends; green and Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2014, Radiant Orchid.
The Look: A pop of green & Radiant Orchid
Glowing skin was a big hit on the Spring 2014 runways. Always be sure to start with clean, primed skin. MUA Stephanie Cunningham recommends La Base Pro primer by Lancôme. Follow with a moisturizing and protective foundation like Tient Visionaire Lancôme (here in 160 Warm Buff). Add definition and fill eyebrows to frame the face by brushing on MAC’s Stud.
Apply MAC’s Lucky Green eyeshadow across the lids. Coat top and bottom lashes with Lancôme’s Hypnose Star mascara to get the super long, dense effect. Brighten eyes by lining lower lashes with Fascinating Eye Kohl by MAC, smudge lightly using a brush for a softer look. Add a little color to cheeks and temple using Estée Lauder blush (here in Peach Passion). Accent the cheekbones using a contouring brush and Bronze Goddess Medium #2 by Estée Lauder, and highlight using MAC’s Shell Bronzer.
For a more subtle day time look, add a a natural gloss such as Lancôme’s Paradise Peach and Gloss in Love #300. Or finish by adding a pop of Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2014, Radiant Orchid (here, Cover Girl in Temptation Seduction) to take the look from day to night.
