Oak City 7, Week 6

Date: Thursday, August 8th

Time: 5:00 – 10:30 PM

Location: Raleigh City Plaza

Come out and enjoy week six of the 2013 Oak City 7 series, with Big Something, The Broadcast, Wesley Wolfe, Spiralfire! FREE at City Plaza on Fayetteville Street in Downtown Raleigh! The Aquafina Happy Hour at 5:00 pm, with $1 pizza slices from La Volta plus early local performers. Main stage music kicks off at 6:30 PM and rocks until 10:30 PM. The Week Six Line Up is as follows: Spiralfire at  6:30 PM, Wesley Wolfe at 7:25 PM, The Broadcast at 8:20 PM, and Big Something at 9:15 PM. This event is FREE and open to the public.

MASS APPEAL, Volume 11

Date: Friday, August 9th

Time: 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Location: Mosaic

It’s time for your monthly dose of all things NC Hip Hop! This month, Mass Appeal brings to you live painting outside by Dominique Carter and live art projected on the side of the building by Victor Knight! Bboy Poppin’ Paul, Aquaboogy & Goldi Lox will be tearing up the floor while featured DJ Brett Rock along with DJ Merlin and SPCLGST will keep things moving all night long inside and on the patio. Celebrity Bartender

Date: Wednesday, August 14th

Time: 5:00 – 9:00 PM

Location: Zinda

Zinda’s “Celebrity Bartender Event Series” is a year-long event series created to raise awareness and funds for nonprofits making an impact in the local community. This month, the event will benefit The Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting The V Foundation for Cancer Research. 10% of bar proceeds from the evening are donated to the nonprofit partner. Celebrities and other local personalities who will be guest bar-tending this month are: Pam Valvano Strasser; Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic Board Member, Elliott Avent; NCSU Head Men’s Baseball Coach, Mark Gottfried; NCSU Men’s Basketball Coach, Dr. John Cavanagh; Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research Development at NCSU, and Frank McCann; Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic Tournament Executive Director.
