Come out and enjoy week two of the 2013 Oak City 7 series, with Rosco Bandana, The Trophy Fire, The Human Eyes, Doug McCormick and John Stickley Trio! The Aquafina Happy Hour will start at 5:00 PM, with $1 pizza slices from La Volta plus early local performers. Main stage music kicks off at around 6:00 and rocks until 10:30. The lineup is as follows: Jon Stickley Trio @5:55, Doug McCormick @ 6:45, The Human Eyes @ 7:35, The Trophy Fire @ 8:25 and Rosco Bandana @ 9:15. This event is FREE and open to the public.

It’s that time of the month again! Live art by artist and illustrator Jamaul Smith! Bboy Tang and legendary bboy Rob Nasty will be tearing up the floor while Merlin and DJ Sicknis will keep things moving all night long. Bboys will be killing it inside while DJ SPCLGST runs the dance party on the patio outside. Come out and enjoy the best of NC’s hip hop scene. This event is FREE.

Maker Faire:NC is a “Mini” Maker Faire and is North Carolina’s celebration of everything made. The aim is to bring all the enthusiasm and all the fun on a slightly smaller scale. Every year at Maker Faire North Carolina makers, crafters, inventors, evil geniuses, scientists and artists come together for a day of family-friendly fun and inspiration. From home-made cookies to home-made robots, Maker Faire: NC promises something for everyone in a showcase of the local creative spirit.

Summer is around the corner and you need a tote bag to carry your beach towels, flip-flops, and sunscreen! Join ReDress Raleigh for a basic cut and sew workshop and sew your own awesome bag. A team of seasoned seamstresses will be there every step of the way to show you how to go from a flat piece of fabric to a cool, functional tote bag. This is a great class for beginners who are looking to get more comfortable on the sewing machine! Limited number of sewing machines will be provided. If you have a sewing machine and would like to use it at the workshop, you’re welcome to bring it with you. This workshop is sponsored by Spoonflower. $10 at the door.
