Ne-Yo Sizzles at Charlotte Hot Spot

Grammy-Award winner Ne-Yo had the Queen City red hot as Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc & Malibu Red presented A Night with Ne-Yo. The triple-threat singer-songwriter-actor wowed the multiple hundreds in attendance on May 15 at Label (North Carolina Music Factory) near uptown Charlotte. Since his 2006 debut, Ne-Yo has impressed listeners with his talents from his multi-platinum debut, In My Own Words. Dressed in a classic red suit and donning his signature fedora hat, he sang and danced the night away.

The Las Vegas native opened the show with a bang with the chart-topping “Because of You” released on his second album. Afterwards, he sizzled with a trip down memory lane with a litany of his most popular songs such as “Stay”, “One in a Million”, “Radio” and his first major hit “Sexy Love.” Then the crowd erupted when he crooned “You Make Me Better” from his collaboration with Fabulous. Soon after he performed songs from his later CDs Libra Scale and R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream) including “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself).” A consummate showman, Ne-Yo’s dancing and songs brimmed with vigor and class. Equally his ability to effortlessly move through the urban, hip-hop, pop and soul genres made his suite of songs a stellar showcase.

The event also served as a fundraiser to support cancer research, early detection and prevention via AMPED 4-A-Cure, Inc.
