This month Fashion Worx will be featuring several up and coming designers from both the Meredith College and NCSU design programs. Each school recently had their end of the year fashion shows and will be will showcaseing those amazing pieces. They will also be guest featuring the amazingly talented Zac Schell of Zac Schell Designs. http://zacschell.com/ The charity partnership for this event will be The Autism Society of North Carolina, and there is a suggested donation of $5.

Out! Raleigh celebrates North Carolina’s LGBT community, families, friends and supporters in a family-friendly atmosphere. The day-long festival will feature a main stage performance area for regional and local musical groups as well as local dignitaries and speakers. A KidsZone will provide free activities and educational entertainment for young children. All of Fayetteville Street from the State Capitol to City Plaza will be closed for the event, allowing businesses and non-profit organizations to set up vendor spaces to interact with the visiting public.
23rd Annual Derby Days

Can’t make it to Louisville, Kentucky to catch the “greatest two minutes in sports”? The Young Affiliates of The Mint are hosting their 23rd Annual Derby Days Event. The afternoon includes live musical entertainment by The Jon Linker Band, lawn games such as Cornhole, Viking Chess, and Croquet; and a large-screen viewing of the race live from Louisville, Kentucky. The Kentucky Derby is as much about the fashion as the horses themselves, so don’t expect to show up in jeans and a t-shirt – this is the chance to see and be seen. Drex and Maney from Kiss 95.1 will be the judges for this year’s hat contest, sponsored by Lilly Pulitzer.
South Carolina Strawberry Festival
Date: Friday, May 3rd/Satuday, May 4th
Time: 6:00 – 11:00 PM/8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Location: Walter Y. Elisha Park
The South Carolina Strawberry Festival has been named South Carolina’s Event of the Year for the past two years. The festival is attended by over 50,000 people for two days of music, fireworks, children’s activities and a variety of food and food-related contests. The park will feature food, music, arts, contests, a car show and kid’s rides. Parents can purchase all-you-can-ride wristbands that evening for the kid’s rides. The Marshall Tucker Band will take the stage as Friday’s headliner. On Saturday, May 4th the Peach Stand will host an all-you-can-eat strawberry pancake breakfast from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. Once festival-goers have had their fill they can head to Walter Elisha Park. Saturday’s headliners will be Noah Guthrie and The Producers. Fireworks will close out the festival at 9:45PM.
