Q-Art Code Project Launch

Date: Friday, March 1st

Location: Contemporary Art Museum

The City of Raleigh Arts Commission has partnered with North Carolina State University’s Advanced Media Lab to develop a project that provides smartphone users public access to information about the City’s public art collection. The City of Raleigh’s collection of more than 300 works of art on view in public spaces is managed by the Arts Commission. A primary goal of the Arts Commission is to raise awareness of the impact of public art and its cultural and economic contributions through the documentation of artwork in the City’s collection.

Get ready for Spring 2013 with an intimate runway show from Chezelle, KK Bloom, Lotus, Monkees of Lake Norman, Olive Online Boutique, Mere Jewelry and Towne & Reese! Pop-up shops from each participating vendor will follow the show, where you can purchase EVERYTHING you see on the runway. Everyone gets a front row seat at this show and shop event! Bites by Roots Farm Truck, sips from Triple C, tunes from DJ Arthur Brouthers, and ticket sales will go toward Safe Alliance!

CIAA Fashion Fundraiser

Date: Saturday, March 2nd

Location: BMW-Ducati Motorcycles of Charlotte

Inspire Models is a fresh new fashion charm school for girls that educates young women on how to be runway models and role models. The 1st Annual Fashion Fundraiser is a celebration of the school’s launch and will help to raise money for the “ALL WE WANT IS LOVE” foundation against human trafficking. Hosted by America’s Next Top Model, Bianca Chardei, and music by DJ Danny B, the event will feature competitions, giveaways, food, and more. Tickets are available at


Altar Ego Fashion Show

Date: Friday, March 1st

Time: 6:30 – 10:00 PM

Location: Washington Duke Inn

New York Times Best Selling Author Emily Giffin will start the evening with a book signing and meet and greet. Following cocktail hour, there will be a presentation of ready-to-wear fashion by Hadley Emerson, Scout and Molly of Chapel Hill, Smitten Boutique, and bridal fashion by Tre Bella Bridal, Bella Bridesmaid, and Bernard’s Formalwear. The proceeds from the evening’s events plus a portion of the sales from the shopping experience will go to The Girls on the Run of The Triangle. Tickets are $50 and include a signature drink, food and entertainment.


4th Annual Triad Goodwill Rock the Runway Fashion Show

Date: Friday, March 1st

Time: 6:00 – 11:00 PM

Location: Elm Street Center

The Triad Goodwill Rock the Runway 2013 Fashion Show will feature ensembles for women, men and children found on the racks of Goodwill retail stores! Shop looks off the runway at Willows by Goodwill Boutique, enjoy a cash bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a chance to bid on silent auction items and a private concert featuring musical group Sleeping Booty! All proceeds from the evening will go towards the mission of helping local residents with barriers to employment and to obtain job training.
