Designer Style: Robert Geller’s Darker Side

Geller’s work is particularly noteworthy because of its thoughtful details. Somewhere between a soldier and a gypsy – there’s real passion here.

Born in Germany in 1976, Geller’s work is dark and reminiscent of much German design. His garments are sculptural in a layered and loose way. Geller attended Rhode Island School of Design; a school that is heavily recognized for it’s conceptual approach to design. He went on to study under Marc Jacobs, and win a handful of prestigious awards which afforded him the opportunity to launch his line (2007.)

I’m loving the rebellious materials and clinical cuts. The legwarmers and armbands are made of neoprene. I’m also excited about the layered looser knits.

I'm a commission garment and soft-goods designer. I create high-end garments for private clients, exclusively. I have an undergraduate degree in Graphic design from Parsons School of Design and Virginia Commonwealth University; and a graduate degree in Industrial Design from NCSU. I compete on a national level in competitive fashion arts. I have a very divergent work history and I look for inspiration absolutely everywhere! Recent accomplishments: featured designer on Lifetime Television Spring 2012, headlined Charleston Fashion Week 2011.
