Raleigh Living Dead: Raleigh’s Inaugural Halloween Festival
Photography by Travis Jones, Carolina STYLE Magazine
This past Saturday, October 27th, the first annual Raleigh Living Dead festival hit the streets of downtown Raleigh. The premier Halloween extravaganza was produced by over 18 local organizations, with local sponsors including Carolina STYLE Magazine. The family friendly festivities included hula-hooping in costumes and photography of creative costumes!
Local food trucks were on hand for hungry Halloween-ers, while vendor tents showcased jewelry and art. A reDRESS the Dead fashion show was featured, sponsored by reDRESS Raleigh, along with Cirque De Vol Studios and Pickle Mamas! The Fusion Dance Group produced a flashmob performance by the Zombie Dance camp of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, while Carolinians enjoyed live music from regional bands Lila, Left Outlet, and The Big Picture.
The event, produced by Live Gumption, was a huge success! Proceeds are being donated to the Raleigh Jaycess, an organization that promotes leadership through community service.
