Charleston Fashion Week® (CFW) is now accepting applications for 2013’s model castings and Emerging Designer Contest.
If you have not heard about CFW (and if not where have you been???) allow me to fill you in. Its one of the nation’s premier fashion events and has been launchpad for careers in modeling and fashion design. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend Fashion Week in NY since 2008 and I must say, Charleston Magazine produces quite a spectacular event.
Former CFW models have gone on to land contracts with IMG, Elite, IKON, and Ford; they’ve also secured highly prestigious with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NY and Miami, Seventeen Magazine, America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl and more.
If you’re interested in applying to be a model in the shows CFW requires a complete online application by September 5. Applicants must meet the height requirements of 5’7″ (women) and 5’10” (men). For full rules and regulations, success stories, and details, visit the website. All models casted for CFW 2013 will train with renowned model coach Michelle Wood, receive payment, be profiled on the CFW website, and will receive a gift bag valued at $500. In addition, each model will automatically be entered into the Rock the Runway Model Competition.
Former CFW designers have been recognized by E! News, Women’s Wear Daily, Sports Illustrated, and Vogue. One designer was featured on NBC’s Fashion Star and another had her collection picked up by Barney’s New York.
If you’re interested in applying to be an Emerging Designer, click here to view the FAQ page, fill out the application and upload your sketches.
