The Makeup Show NYC comes to a close bringing inspiration and education to the epicenter of beauty and fashion. Over 6,000 beauty professionals, buyers, industry educators, press, and retailers, packed the halls at Metropolitan Pavilion on March 13 and 14 to immerse themselves in the LARGEST makeup industry event of the year.
The Makeup Show NYC allows pro makeup artists to stock their kits with the latest products and brands on the market and to network amongst some of the most influential artists in the industry. Each year the show hosts top makeup artists and this year was no exception. A few in attendance included Troy Jensen, Frances Hathaway, and Kristofer Buckle who each shared the secrets to their success and techniques in intimate keynotes and demonstrations.
“The Makeup Show continues to be the premiere event for makeup professionals,” says James Vincent, Director of Artistry andEducation for The Makeup Show. “Because it is open only to industry insiders in the hair, makeup and fashion community with credentials it allows us to being in the best of education and brand presence and truly creates a pro community.”
Participating brands included: Diamond Sponsor MAKE UP FOR EVER, Platinum Sponsor Crown Brush and Temptu Pro, Silver Sponsor Stila, Supporting Sponsors NARS, Make-Up Designory,Smashbox, Hautelook, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Alcone and INGLOT Cosmetics, Media Sponsor Jones Magazine, Other Sponsors The Powder Group and On Makeup Magazine. In addition, over 60 pro-makeup industry companies including: MAC, Ellis Faas, Alcone, Senna, Kett Cosmetics, Embryolisse USA, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin, Armour Beauty, Cinema Secrets, to name a few.
The Makeup Show Artists each launched exclusive brush collections at the show. These brushes flew off the shelves from makeup artists eager to be inspired from the best in the industry. Artists that personalized their own signature brushes included James Vincent, Jon Hennessey, Orlando Santiago, Danessa Myricks, and Esterique Aidan.
Beauty Brands unveiled new products and offered pro-discounts. Some brands even sold out of their newest collections. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Kissable Couture were amongst the brands that cleared out of their latest colors and products.
NARS“Pop-Up Shop” which resembled their flagship boutique proved to be a huge success and was packed at all times. They even sold out of many popular products.
Make-Up Designory presented two full days of seminars packed with makeup artists who were anxious to discover how to achieve some of the most iconic and theatrical looks in television.
The Makeup Show NYC highlighted a unique lineup of keynote speakers from the best makeup artists in the industry. Amongst this lineup were Troy Jensen, Johnny Lavoy, Frances Hathaway, Kristofer Buckle, Matin, and Sutan Amrull.
The Makeup Show Career Fair in its first year welcomed 400 attendees that were eager to network, get immediate face-to-face interviews, and career tips from industry experts.
The Makeup Show is owned and produced by Metropolitan Event & Production and travels internationally from LA, NYC, Chicago, Europe, and Orlando.
